Returning To Self, Returning to the Heart (BMC℠)

Returning To Self, Returning to the Heart (BMC℠)

In this Body-Mind Centering® Workshop, we investigate the Lymph System. The lymph system is as widespread as blood is in the body. It goes everywhere but it flows only in one direction. The direction of flow is from the periphery to the heart. It returns again and again to this organic center. As we learn and practice lymph drainage on ourselves and with partners, the potential of embodying the concept of returning to Self can be experienced physically and emotionally. On an immune system level, the lymph gathers that which it identifies as foreign, or 'not self', such as viruses, bacteria, or other substances. Through movement, writing and discussion, we apply the metaphor of me and not me to extract a clearer sense of Self.

Clearing and Gratitude (Authentic Movement)

Clearing and Gratitude (Authentic Movement)

Authentic Movement is the structure we engage with in this workshop. We use this structure that includes conscious movement, writing and drawing to explore questions. As Thanksgiving Holiday approaches, we inquire about the stressors in our lives, what is essential and what can be cleared. We can ask what do I have that I want to maintain and what areas of my life am I grateful for. Connecting with oneself in this Authentic Movement structure can illuminate clarifications to these questions that have been previously hidden. Well into autumn, the change of season encourages letting go and burrowing deep within the recesses of Self.

Protecting Vitality (BMC℠)

Protecting Vitality (BMC℠)

In this Body-Mind Centering® workshop, our inquiry takes us into the bone marrow where immune system stem cells are born. These cells called hematopoietic stem cells originating in the marrow and mature into white blood cells, lymph cells, T-cells and many other types of cells that scavenge and demolish viruses, bacteria and parasites in our bodies. They have an impressive communication system and plan of disarmament that is efficient and thorough. Through hands-on partner work, movement, study and discussion, we connect with this anatomical support in our body and affirm our natural defense mechanisms and our ability to protect our vitality.
