Renting in Town and Commuting

Eugene, Creswell and Cottage Grove have many hotels, motels, B&Bs, Air B&Bs and VRBO. All three cities offer beautiful drives through woods and pastures to the MW site. Eugene is about a 45-minute drive. Creswell and Cottage Grove are closer about 30 to 35-minute drive, but are winding roads over the mountain.

Camping On Site

During the courses scheduled in June and July, camping onsite is an option. Moving Within is located within the Willamette Forest and is on a 10-acre parcel that is on a slope. Over the years, we have created 12 campsites. We maintain them as best we can. Due to limited resources and the inherent slope of the land we cannot ensure an absolute level site, However, for experienced campers and especially backpackers, the option of camping here will feel luxurious. For inexperienced campers, it means living rough.

There are two choices with camping. Both camping choices include outhouses and an outdoor shower with on-demand hot water. Both camping options include a $45 per day charge for meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Meals are made with locally sourced organic produce. Vegan, vegetarian, omnivore and gluten free options are always available. It is not possible for us to accommodate dietary needs that are outside of these offerings.

Onsite Camp Options

  1. Rent a tent site and bring your own tent. It is important to make sure that your tent is water resistant as we often have periods of rain. If you rent the site you also are responsible for bringing all your camping equipment including bedding, lantern etc. $15. Tent Site per day times the total of days in a course including days off.

  2. Rent a tent site with a fully furnished tent with rain protection when needed. This includes an REI inflatable air mattress, all bedding, lantern, an outside chair and small table. The tents are 7’ X 5’, Coleman 2-person Sun Dome. They are not tall enough to stand in. The size enables us to enclose them with an igloo type structure to keep them dry during rainy periods and ensures warmth from body heat. The dimensions require one to bend and be on hands and knees to enter and exit. If you have previous conditions that may be aggravated by this repetitive movement, this would not be an option for you. Please be realistic about your abilities when choosing this option. $25. Tent Site per day times the total of days in a course including days off.

If you will be a camper-resident, it is important that you arrive by 3pm the day before the course begins. There is a residential meeting before dinner that night. The meeting will include property orientation, outdoor shower instruction, house rules and community chores for camper-residents. Transportation from Eugene on arrival and departure is provided to camper-residents as long as a complete itinerary is received by MW administration 2-3 weeks before arrival.
